GF38, a Ligue 2 club from Isère, has been fined by French football authorities for a coach issue. The club must pay 62,500 euros for not respecting the rules governing the appointment of its head coach after Franck Rizzetto's departure. The regulation requires professional clubs to have a head coach with a BEPF or equivalent diploma, with a fine of 12,500 euros per match after a 30-day regularization period. GF38, which had appointed Frédéric Guéguen as interim coach on April 3, did not meet this deadline: despite a derogation request filed on May 2, Franck Rizzetto was still officially declared head coach on May 4, a situation not in line with federal rules. Frédéric Guéguen was granted an exceptional authorization from May 4 to coach GF38 until the end of the season. If the club had chosen to continue with this coach, a new request would have had to be filed. However, a change of coach now seems imminent.
